I personally have done both, starting with P90X and then P90X2.  I love both programs a lot and they both offer a little different take on fitness.  When answering P90X or P90x2 you must consider the purpose of the two programs.  P90X was designed to get you in the best shape of your life.  On the other hand, while P90X2 will also get you in the best shape of you life, its main goal is to improve athletic performance.  When deciding whether to start P90X or P90X2 something else to consider is the schedule of the two.  P90X gives you a concrete 90 day workout program, whereas P90X2 gives you a more flexible schedule.  P90X2 consist of 3 phases that can be done from 3-6 weeks each, depending on what you feel you need.A common question I get is “Should I do P90X or P90X2?”  The best answer is both!  But in all seriousness, it depends on your current fitness level whether you should do P90X or P90X2.  If you are new to working out or have not worked out in a while, then I would recommend doing P90X first.  After you have completed P90X in its entirety, you may want to move on to P90X2.  If you are currently working out then you may want to give P90X2 a try right off the bat.
